Welcome to Another Audit Lyfe in BPK RI :)

Hi there! Yes, it was such loonng time agoo before I wrote again in this blog. I'm so sorry because last year is a hectic year for me since I was accepted to work at The Audit Board of The Republic of Indonesia (Badan Pemeriksa Keuangan RI or BPK RI). After that, since February 2019 until November 2019, I was involved in so many training and development activities in my institution. So, what do you think about my position in BPK RI? Auditor again? 100 points! Lol

What makes me want to be an auditor again this time? Actually when I resigned from KPMG, I realised that I couldn't do anything better than audit. And I had so many times to think about what my actual passion is. After I resigned from KPMG, I tried to enter a consulting firm, and I firstly thought that I will be comfortable in it since some friends of mine said that working in the consulting firm is a lot better than in public accounting firm. And like what I stated in my last post ("My Experience as A Finance Consultant"), I think I just couldn't keep it cool when my clients want to polish my output from adding small to big-yet-non-substantial changes. If it is related to the substance of my output, I will have a big willingness to change it. However, if it is non-substantial changes, I won't feel excited since in my opinion, it is unnecessary work to do. We can't have that kind of thinking if we worked on a consulting firm since our customer is our king. Therefore, we need to give them our best to achieve their satisfaction. And I just realized that I couldn't do that.

So I tried to search for another job and yes, I found it. I was informed that I was accepted as an auditor in BPK RI at 26th January 2019. Here is the announcement!

After that, I joined this institution formally in 1st March 2019. At the first and a half month, I was placed in BPK RI Perwakilan Provinsi Bali. And then, the institution registered me in a training for 7 months? 7 months? Yes. It's 7 (seven) Months. The reason is that because we have so many important tasks to do and so many rules to follow as government auditors and we should learn and understand about it before we start our work. I had three kind of training activities before I start my work. First, I had BPK Orientation Training which explained to us about the vision, mission, values, organisation structure and short and long term goals of our institution. And after that we have Basic Practice as A Civil Servant which explained to us about the role of civil servant in our country and what things that we should do and we should avoid as a civil servant. Finally, we had First Stage Audit Training. In this training, we learned about accounting and audit in public sector and management theories related to the audit. Soo, here are the pictures of my training phase!

So, let me tell you this. People from the last picture is my Balinese Family in BPK. Hope that we will always still keep contacting each other wherever we are. Okay, I think that's all about my new work as an auditor! Hope that I can write the next story tomorrow! Bye!
